Let’s get the obvious out of the way…
…for those of you that missed it, Navy pounded Army in this year’s football match up 34-0. The evidence –
That’s seven years in a row baby! I’m not a big football fan, but we clearly have reason to celebrate!
In sunny Florida, we supported the effort. This bad boy will be coming down this evening, but we’ll have it back up in less than two weeks to mark the arrival of our favorite midshipman!
Army-Navy football is serious stuff! Check out the Number One Spectator:

The march-on’s were early, and for some bizarre reason Navy had to march on first. Army followed, and then they had their cute lil’ helicopters do a flyover. Navy answered with this:
You tell me — which group makes the bad guys go wee-wee more often? The chop chop chop of Army helicopters or the roar of an oncoming air assault courtesy of a Navy carrier 300 miles away? I’m going with Navy all the way.
Army sent in some paratroopers too. Their guys dropped one at a time, looked good, and actually hit the field this time. Mark has been at West Point games where the parachutes can be seen floating a mile away from the stadium…somebody screwed up the Mapquest directions.
Navy adds a little finesse to the affair –
And finally, what’s a Navy game without the Brigade? I don’t have any of Mark’s company during the march on, but here’s a shot of about 4,500 happy mids during after the game –
Check out the big screen in the back. That’s the shot of all of ‘em…
Speaking of all of ‘em: Mark tells us the mids hit the Navy buses at 3:45 AM. It takes almost a hundred of those sweet, rock-star quality rides to get the mids up to Philly. And on the way, they get a State Police escort for the whole ride. God help the motorists on I-95…
Amazing day! Maybe we’ll all be there next year…
